CreamBeat softened butter and sugar until smooth but not very airy.

Make doughStir in flour and salt until a crumbly dough comes together.

Press & scorePress evenly into the lined pan. Score 16 pieces with a knife and prick all over with a fork.

Bake & cutBake 35–40 minutes until pale gold. Recut along scored lines while warm, then cool completely in the pan.
